Basic DNS Service |
| here's the problem - You have a cable or DSL connection and have a dynamic IP address (Typical for most Homes). But you want to have a method to access your cameras, that usually require a static IP address. A static IP address is expensive and often difficult to get. |
| and the solution - The "BanyanCam" Premier Service service tracks your current IP address and "resolves" your domain name to your current IP address for each camera. |
| the result is - You can easily access your cameras by addressing it by its "BanyanCam" name rather than by trying to find its current IP address. |
| an example - You can have a domain name likeYourname.BanyanCam.com and then we include the new domain name in your camera or Banyan supplied router. Then using that domain name despite the fact that you have a dynamic IP address you will gain access to your cameras. |
| how it works - The software reports the current IP address of your Camera or router to our dynamic DNS servers. You visit your camera by entering Yourname.BanyanCam.com into the browser. That information comes to our dynamic DNS servers which "resolve" the domain name to your current IP address. Our servers send that information back to your browser and the browser uses that information to connect to your camera. |
